Emami

Emami has been operating out of 59 West Kamalapur in the Dumdum area of Kolkata for some time. This part of the city is always full of life and the street outside our building is never really quiet. We have a simple setup inside this house where we manage our daily operations. The building is an older one with thick walls which helps a little bit when the Kolkata humidity gets to be too much. We have a few rooms used for different things but mostly we just congregate in the main area to talk about what needs to be done. The stairs are a bit narrow so we have to be careful when we are carrying boxes up and down. Most of our staff have been with us for years and we all know how the routine goes. We don't have any big signs or flashing lights out front because everyone who needs to find us already knows where we are. In the afternoons we usually take a break for some tea and maybe some snacks from the local vendor who comes by. It is a very practical way of working without any of the extra stuff you see in big city offices. We just focus on getting the day's work finished so we can beat the evening traffic on the way home. It is a honest living in a busy neighborhood.
