Ramkamal Street in Khiddirpur is where we spend most of our time. Eastern Engineer India Pvt Ltd has been based here at number 10 for quite a while now. If you've ever been to this part of Kolkata, you know it's always moving, with trucks and people everywhere. The office is just a regular room with some old desks and a lot of papers. We deal with engineering stuff, which mostly means a lot of phone calls and checking on technical drawings. It’s not the cleanest job, you often end up with some dust on your shirt by the end of the day. The tea stall around the corner is where we usually take our breaks. It’s nothing fancy, just a place to work. Sometimes the humidity in Kol-23 is really something, and we just have to sit under the fan and keep going. We don’t have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know how things work. People in the neighborhood know us as the engineering guys. It’s a bit noisy outside with the port nearby, but you get used to it after a week or two. We just try to get the orders out and make sure the parts are what they need to be. There isn't much more to say than that, we just keep our heads down and do what needs doing every day of the week.
