Infracon is what we do, and Bankura is where we’re based. It’s a part of West Bengal that doesn’t always get the big city attention, but there’s a lot of building going on lately. Dra Infracon Pvt Ltd is basically a small team of us working on local projects. Whether it’s roads or small buildings, we’re usually out in the field. Our office isn't much to look at; it’s mostly where we keep the tools and the paperwork. We spend more time in the mud or on-site than we do sitting behind a desk. The weather in Bankura can be tough, either it's pouring rain and everything is a mess, or it’s so hot you can barely move. But the work has to get done anyway. We know the local suppliers and the workers around here. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking on materials that are late or missing. We don't have a big corporate logo on our trucks or anything like that. We’re just local people who know how to build things. Sometimes things go wrong, a machine breaks or the materials don't show up, and we just have to figure it out on the fly. It’s not glamorous, and we don’t pretend it is. We just want to finish the job so we can move on to the next one. It’s how life is here in this part of Bengal, just hard work and heat.
