We are over here at 21A Prince Rahimuddin Lane in Tollygunge. It’s a quiet enough spot if you ignore the usual city noise. Most days start around nine when the shutters go up and someone goes out to get the first round of tea for everyone. The office is pretty simple. We’ve got desks that have seen better days and files stacked up in the corner because we never seem to get around to throwing anything out. It gets a bit stuffy in the afternoons when the Kolkata sun hits the front of the building, but we have the fans going. People walk past the gate all day on their way to the main road. We know most of the neighbors by now, at least by sight. D B Desai Co has been in this part of town for a bit. It’s not a fancy place with glass walls or anything like that. Just a regular workspace where we get our things done and hope the electricity doesn’t cut out during a big task. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost looking for the lane, so we have to stand out front and wave them down. It’s just how things go here. We don't have a big reception area or a sign that lights up at night. It’s just us working through the pile of papers and talking about what to have for lunch from the local shops nearby.
