We are located in the Mercantile Building on Lalbazar Street. It’s in Block-A on the second floor at number 9. This building is one of those old-fashioned places in the heart of the business district. The ceilings are high and the corridors are long and a bit dark. We’ve been here for years, handling export and import stuff. Our office is packed with papers, stamps, and old ledgers that we still haven't thrown away. It’s a busy part of the city, with the police headquarters nearby and all the traffic on Lalbazar Street. You can hear the trams and the buses all day long through the windows. We spend a lot of time dealing with customs forms and shipping schedules. It isn't the kind of place where you’ll find modern art on the walls or sleek laptops everywhere. We have our old desks and a lot of filing cabinets. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit by the window to use the natural light. It’s a traditional way of doing business. We know the other tenants in the building, and we often bump into them in the hallways. Dealing with trade means we are always looking at clocks and calendars. It’s a bit of a grind, but we like the history of the building and the way things work around here.
