We are over at E.C.T.P Phase 1 in the Payamanti Housing Society. Specifically, we are in Flat No B5/5. It is a residential complex in Kolkata, so the atmosphere is quite relaxed compared to the city center. You have to tell the security guard at the gate where you are going before they let you in. The office is basically a flat that has been converted into a workspace. It has that kitchen-turned-pantry feel and we keep our books in the cupboards. It is a quiet place to work because we are away from the main traffic noise. We sit around the main table mostly and handle the recruitment stuff. The walls are a bit plain, maybe they need a fresh coat of paint soon, but it serves its purpose. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; usually, whoever is closest to the door just opens it. We spend a lot of time on the phones and the computers. Sometimes we have tea on the balcony when the weather is nice. It is a very down-to-earth way of doing business. We don't pretend to be some high-flying agency with a skyscraper view. We are just a group of people working out of a flat in 700107. It is practical and low-cost, which helps us stay focused on the actual work instead of the decor. Every day is pretty much the same routine of calls and emails until we lock up and head out.
