Compressed Air Engineers

Compressed Air Engineers is tucked away at 7, 1st Floor on Chandney Chowk Street. This part of Princep Street is always a whirlwind of activity. If you know Kolkata, you know how Chandney is—wires everywhere, people hauling goods, and shops packed into every corner. Being on the first floor gives us a bit of a view of the chaos below, but the noise still climbs up the stairs. The building is old, like most things in this neighborhood, and the walls have that weathered look. We work with air compressors and related gear, so there is usually a background hiss or a thump of a machine being tested. The office isn't very big. We have old desks and some tall stacks of manuals that have been there for years. Princep Street is famous for technical stuff, so we feel right at home among the other engineering shops. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a large shipment in, and getting things up to the first floor takes some effort. We don't have fancy lights or a lounge area. It’s just a place where we handle orders and talk to people about their compressor problems. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall while we keep an eye on the shop. It’s a busy, cramped, and very real place to work. We've been here for years, watching the same shops change hands while we just keep working.
