You can find us over on Mahatma Gandhi Road, up on the fourth floor of number 178. Being in this part of Kolkata means there is never a dull moment. The traffic outside is always humming, and there’s a lot of energy in the air. We work with fabrics and colors, which is why the name says Fab Tex. It’s a lot of hands-on work. We spend a good chunk of our time looking at different dyes and how they react with various textiles. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out exactly how we thought it would, so we have to sit down and figure out why. It’s all part of the process. The stairs to the fourth floor are a bit of a climb, but we don’t mind it much. It’s good for the legs. We have a small staff and we all pretty much do a bit of everything. One person might be checking a shipment while the other is answering the phone or fixing a snag in a piece of cloth. We don't have any fancy mission statements or things like that. We just come in, do the work, and try to get the orders out as they should be. It's a simple life, really. We’ve grown accustomed to the rhythm of the MG Road area and wouldn't really want to be anywhere else.
