Our shop is located at 14 Russa Road East First Lane in Kolkata 33. It’s a bit tucked away, so you have to look for the lane carefully. Inside, we’ve got stacks of ceramic and stone tiles leaning against every wall. It gets a bit dusty because we’re always moving heavy boxes around for customers who are fixing up their kitchens or bathrooms. We don't have a big fancy display with lights. Usually, we just pull a few samples out and lay them on the floor so people can see how they look in the natural light coming through the door. People in Kolkata know that we’ve been here a while. We know which tiles hold up well in the damp weather and which ones get slippery. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, and my back definitely feels it by the time we close up. We try to keep a variety of colors in stock, but sometimes things go out of fashion and we’re left with old patterns that nobody wants anymore. We just keep those in the back. The lane outside is narrow, so unloading the delivery trucks is always a bit of a headache with the traffic and the noise. We just do our bit, helping folks pick something that fits their budget and their floor. It’s simple, honest work and we really like being part of the local market scene here.
