If you’re looking for us, we’re over at Zaitun Manzil, which is 10 B Aga Mehdi Street in Kolkata. We’ve got both the ground and the first floor, though we mostly spend our time running up and down the stairs between the two. Career Connect is just a small outfit in a very busy part of the 700016 district. The building is old and has that classic Kolkata feel to it, which means it’s a bit drafty but has plenty of character. We don't have a big sign out front, just a small one that most people miss if they aren't looking closely. Our days are filled with piles of resumes and endless cups of chai. We spend a lot of time just listening to people tell us about their troubles finding work. It’s not a fancy office by any means; the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, and the desks are a bit chipped at the corners. But it works for us. We aren't trying to be some big national corporation. We just want to help the people in our neighborhood find something that fits them. There’s a lot of noise from Aga Mehdi Street that comes in through the windows, but you get used to it after a week or two. We just keep our heads down and do the work that comes our way every day, without any of that marketing fluff.
