We operate out of 25 Gangadhar Babu Lane in Kolkata. It is right in the heart of things, near the old parts of the city where the streets are narrow and full of history. Being a transport company, we deal with a lot of movement, but our home base is this old building. It has high ceilings and thick walls that keep things a bit cooler during the hot summer months. Capital Transport Corporation Of India has been around for a long time. You can see the history in the way the floorboards creak when you walk to the back office. The area around Kolkata 12 is always humming with activity. There are hand-pulled rickshaws, delivery trucks, and people everywhere. Sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming, but we are used to the chaos. Our office is messy with logbooks and delivery receipts piled up on the tables. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just some old calendars on the walls. We spend a lot of time on the phone coordinating things. It is hard work, and the days can be very long. We don't have a website that looks professional or anything. We just do the job. If you come by, you’ll probably find us drinking tea and looking over some manifests. It’s just how we run things here. No one is wearing a suit or trying to impress anyone. We just keep the trucks moving and the goods delivered as best as we can.
