In Kolkata, we are based in the Kestopur area, specifically in Rabindrapally. Our office is located at Ae 23, Flat 2A inside the Ganpati Apartment. Kestopur is a very crowded and lively neighborhood, and our street is no exception. There is always something going on outside, whether it’s the rickshaws passing by or people chatting on the corner. The apartment building is a standard one for this area. We are on the second floor, so it’s an easy climb if the lift is busy. The office is just a regular flat that we have turned into a workspace. It gets a bit humid during the monsoon, and we have to keep the windows shut to keep the rain out. Inside, it’s a very basic setup with whatever furniture we could fit comfortably. We don’t spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. We are more focused on getting the day’s work finished. Most of us take a break in the afternoon for some tea and maybe some snacks from the local vendors nearby. Being in Rabindrapally means we are right in the middle of a lot of residential life, which gives the office a very local feel. It’s not like those big glass towers you see in Salt Lake; it’s much more humble and real. We just do our work and go about our day like everyone else in this part of Kolkata.
