We are over here at 117 on the second floor along Mono Hor Pukur Road in Kolkata. It’s a busy spot, especially when the morning traffic starts picking up outside. Our office isn’t anything fancy, just a place where we get our work done and try to keep things moving. Most of us arrive by ten, usually after grabbing a quick chai from the corner. The stairs up to the second floor can be a bit steep if you are carrying bags, but you get used to it after a week or two. Inside, we have our desks set up and there is always a bit of chatter about the projects we are handling for Capgemini Consulting India Pvt Ltd. Kolkata gets pretty humid, so we are thankful for the fans and air conditioning when they are running right. It’s mostly just us sitting at computers, typing away or talking through some technical stuff that needs fixing. Sometimes the internet acts up when it rains heavy, but that’s just how it is around here. We don't have a big cafeteria or anything, so most people bring their lunch boxes from home and eat together while talking about the weekend. It’s a regular workspace with regular people trying to do a decent job every day. You can hear the horns from the street even when the windows are shut. It’s just how this part of West Bengal is, always a bit noisy but it feels like home once you settle into your chair.
