Our office for Canary Land Development And Construction is on the ground floor of P-16, Probhat Monmotha Sar. It’s located in the Haltu area, right near the Garfa police station. Having a ground floor spot is actually quite handy because people can just walk in without having to deal with stairs or elevators. We do a lot of work related to land and basic construction. It isn't always glamorous work. A lot of it involves checking boundaries, looking at soil, and sitting through meetings about zoning. The neighborhood around here is pretty lively, and there is always something going on outside our window. We’ve got a small crew, and we’ve all known each other for a long time. We tend to keep things very informal. You won’t find any corporate jargon here. We just talk about what needs to be built and how much it’s going to cost. Some days are better than others, especially when the paperwork gets stuck in some office somewhere, but we manage to get through it. We like being in this part of Kolkata because it feels real. There’s a tea stall nearby where we go when we need a break from the computers. It’s a simple life, focused on land and buildings. We just try to keep our heads down and get the work done as efficiently as we can.
