Calcutta Seafoods

Calcutta Seafoods is located right over at Elque House on 10 Crooked Lane. It is a bit of a tucked-away spot, but that suits us just fine. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets around here. We are usually up and at it pretty early, because the seafood business does not wait for anyone. The morning air has a certain smell to it, and there is always a rush to get the fresh catch sorted and moved to where it needs to go. Our space in Elque House isn't anything fancy, just a practical place to run things from. We have got our scales, our crates, and plenty of ice to keep everything fresh. It can be a bit loud and chaotic when the deliveries come in, but we have gotten used to the pace over the years. We spend a lot of time on our feet, moving stuff around and making sure the quality is what it should be. Crooked Lane is a narrow street, so it can be a bit of a squeeze for the vans, but we manage somehow. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to do right by the people who buy from us. It is hard work and it gets cold and wet, but it is what we do. We have been part of this community for a long time and we know most of the faces around here. We just try to get the fish out on time and keep the shop running.
