Our branch is located at 69/ A Dhiren Dhar Sarani in Kolkata. If you know the area, you know it stays pretty crowded with all the shops and people moving around. Here at the office, it is mostly about the boxes and the envelopes stacked up. We start early in the morning when the first truck arrives. There is always a lot of scanning to do and making sure everything is sorted into the right piles. The floor gets dusty pretty fast with all the movement, but that’s just how it is. It’s not a quiet job at all. You hear the tape dispensers and the shutters going up and down constantly. We have a small desk near the front where people come to drop off their stuff. Some days the weather makes things hard, like when it pours down, but the work doesn't really stop. We just keep moving the packages along the line. The staff here has been together for a good bit, so we have a rhythm. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations or anything. It’s a functional space meant for getting things out the door. Sometimes we lose track of time because there is always one more delivery to log. It’s just a regular part of the city’s daily grind, and we are right in the middle of it. The tea man comes by twice a day, which is the highlight for most of us.
