Down here at 3 Arabinda Sarani in Kolkata, we’ve got our insurance office set up and running. The building has that old Kolkata character to it, which we like. It’s a lively part of the city, and you can hear the trams and the taxis from morning until night. We sit at our desks, often with a ceiling fan spinning fast overhead, and go through the latest folders. People from the neighborhood drop in quite often. They want to know about their payments or how to update their bank details. We do our best to help them out without any big fuss. It’s a pretty simple environment inside. No one wears fancy suits here; we just dress for the humidity and the work. The office is a bit crowded with cabinets full of old folders, but we know where everything is kept. Sometimes we talk about the local football scores or the news while we fill out the forms. It’s a practical place. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide a place for people to come and sort out their insurance needs. The light in the late afternoons is quite nice through the big windows. We’ve become a small part of the daily life here on Arabinda Sarani. It’s just honest work and we keep at it.
