Bharatmatrimony Centre

Our centre is over at 1 1 Heramba Das Lane in Kolkata. If you know the area, it's Kol 9. It’s a narrow lane like many others in this part of the city, and it can be hard to find if you aren't looking closely. We’ve been here for a long time. Bharatmatrimony Centre is just a small office where we help people find matches for marriage. This isn't a big corporate building with a lobby. It’s just a room with some old wooden furniture and a few computers that have seen better days. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy to worry about that right now. People drop by all the time, asking questions and bringing photos of their children or relatives. We sit with them and explain how everything works. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. The street outside can be quite noisy with people talking and rickshaws going by at all hours. We like it though, as it feels like the real Kolkata life. You won't find any fancy brochures or marketing materials here. We just talk to people face to face. Sometimes we have a lot of people waiting and the old fan isn't quite enough to keep it cool, but everyone is patient. We just take one person at a time and do the work. It’s how we’ve always done it. No big corporate rules, just trying to be helpful to the families that come to us. We finish up late most days.
