Our office is over in Vashi Gaon, specifically at Kashimira Apartments. We are in unit 102 on plot 373. It’s a bit of a funny address because the pin code says 700001 which is usually Kolkata, but we are definitely here in Mumbai. Maybe it’s an old clerical thing, who knows. Anyway, the building is one of those standard apartment blocks where people live and work. It isn't a corporate tower with glass walls. We share the space with the local residents, so we try to keep the noise down. The Sri Karthikeya Challa spot is easy enough to find once you get into the Gaon area. The roads are a bit tight around here, especially if a big truck is trying to pass through. Inside, the office is just a bunch of desks shoved together. We drink a lot of chai and talk about the traffic. It’s a lived-in space, not something out of a magazine. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk in and someone will probably look up from their screen. We’ve been in this Vashi location for a good while. It feels like home to us, even with the occasional power cut or the damp walls during the monsoon season. We just do our bit and keep things moving along as best as we can. It’s just how we operate in this part of town.
