Our office is located at 57 2 Ballygunge Circular Road in Calcutta. Bengal Srei Infrastructure Development Ltd sounds like a big name, but inside it’s just people sitting at desks trying to figure out how to get things built. We handle a lot of the boring stuff that goes into making roads and bridges happen. There are piles of documents everywhere and the printers are always making noise. Working on Ballygunge Circular Road means there’s always traffic outside, which we can hear through the windows all day. We spend a lot of time in meetings that go on much longer than they should. It’s not a very fancy setup, just some old desks and a few computers that have seen better days. We don't really do the flashy side of things. Most of our work is about checking permits and seeing if the concrete is going to hold up. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we try not to let it stress us out too much. Sometimes we go out for lunch together at the local stalls nearby. It helps to get away from the screens for a bit. We’ve been at this address for a long time now, so the chai wallah knows exactly how we like our tea in the afternoon. It’s a steady job and we just keep pushing along with whatever project is on the desk that week. We don't complicate things unnecessarily.
