Banerjee Exports

Started on Grant Lane a while back. We are on the fourth floor in Room 4A. It is not a very big room, but it fits our desks and the stacks of papers we have to keep for the tax man. We do exports, which mostly means we spend all day on the phone or checking emails from people overseas. It can be quite a headache when the customs rules change or when a ship is delayed because of a storm. We just take it as it comes. The hallway outside can get pretty noisy with people moving stuff around, but we are used to it by now. We don't have fancy leather chairs or a big sign. It is just a place to work. Sometimes the printer jams when we have to get a shipment out fast, and we all have to stop and fix it together. We know most of the other people in the building. It’s a tight community here on Grant Lane. We handle the shipping of different things from India to other countries. It’s mostly about making sure the labels are right and the timing works out. We don’t have any big corporate philosophy or mission statements. We just come in, drink our tea, and try to get the work done without too many mistakes. It is a lot of back and forth with the transport companies. You learn to be patient in this business because nothing ever goes exactly as planned. We just keep at it.
