Balaji Cargo Carriers

Our office is tucked away at 6 H 9 Rustamjee Parshee Road in Kolkata. If you know the area, it is always crowded with traffic and people moving stuff around. Being in the cargo business means we deal with a lot of trucks and heavy loads every single day. The street can get pretty jammed up, especially when the big vehicles are trying to navigate the narrow turns. We spend most of our time on the phone or shouting over the noise of the traffic to talk to the drivers. There is always a lot of paperwork regarding shipments and where things are supposed to go. It is a bit of a maze inside with all the logs and schedules pinned to the walls. We don't have fancy furniture, just old wooden desks that have seen better days. The ceiling fans hum constantly to keep the Kolkata humidity at bay, but it doesn't always help much. We drink a lot of chai from the vendor down the street while we wait for the next load to arrive. Sometimes things are delayed because of the rain or a breakdown, and we just have to sit tight and figure it out. It is a gritty job and the air always smells a bit like diesel and old paper. We have been operating out of this spot for years and the locals know us as the place with the constant truck movements.
