We spend our days at 25, R N Mukherjee Road, specifically in Suite F on the 4th floor. Bacalar Developers Llp is a place where we do a lot of planning and even more waiting. Developing property in a city like this involves a lot of back-and-forth with different departments and people. Our office is functional, with plenty of shelf space for files that we haven't looked at in years but can't quite throw away yet. It’s not the quietest place, given the location, but we’ve gotten used to the sirens and the shouting from the street. We aren't corporate types who wear suits every day; we’re more likely to be found in dusty shoes after a site visit. We talk a lot about square footage and zoning laws, which sounds dull to most people but it’s our bread and butter. We try to keep things straightforward and honest with everyone we deal with. There’s no use in making things more complicated than they already are. We usually have the radio playing softly in the background to drown out the city noise while we work through our spreadsheets. It’s just us, doing our part to manage these projects and making sure everything is lined up for the next phase. It’s steady work, and we’re happy to be doing it. We don't need much more than a good desk and a working phone.
