You can find us on the second floor of 7 Sambhunath Mullick Lane. It’s one of those narrow lanes in Kolkata where you have to be careful how you walk because there’s always something going on. Being on the second floor means we get a little bit away from the street noise, but not entirely. B P Fabcot LLP is basically a place where we manage fabric and cotton orders all day. The rooms are filled with the sound of the staplers and the rustle of plastic packaging. We have lots of different types of cotton sitting in stacks, and it can get a bit crowded when a new shipment comes in. The light isn't always great in the back rooms, but we make do with what we have. It’s a very hands-on kind of place. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the bills are paid and the customers get their fabric. Sambhunath Mullick Lane is a busy spot for trade, so we are always seeing people we know from the textile business. We usually start early before the lane gets too blocked up with carts and vans. It’s a lot of physical work, moving the heavy rolls of cloth around the office and down the stairs when they need to be loaded up. It’s just a normal, everyday business trying to stay steady in the textile market.
