Axsys Technologies Ltd

We are based at Axsys Technologies Ltd in Kolkata. Our office is actually inside an apartment building called Godhuli, at 388 Baghajatin Place. We use Flat No B 402 and 403. It feels a lot more like a home than a standard office building, which is actually quite nice for us. You have to take the lift up and sometimes it is a bit slow or making weird noises. We have been here for a good amount of time. Working out of a flat means we have a small kitchen area and a bit more of a relaxed atmosphere for the team. We do not have a giant boardroom for meetings. We just pull up some extra chairs in the main room when we need to talk about something important. The view from the window is mostly other buildings and some green trees. Kolkata can be very loud, but being up on the fourth floor helps a little bit with the street noise from below. We spend our days mostly looking at screens and typing away. Everyone has their own way of organizing their desk. Some are very neat and some are a total mess with papers and folders everywhere. We do not really mind as long as the work gets done by the end of the day. It is a local operation and we know the people in the building. It is a comfortable way to work without all that corporate pressure.
