If you find yourself walking down Ashutosh Mukherjee Road in Kolkata, you might pass by our office at 18B. We are Avicala Construction Private Limited. It’s a busy part of the city, and things are always moving fast around here. Our workspace isn't anything fancy, just a place where we get the daily work done. Usually, the day starts with someone bringing in tea and looking over the plans for whatever project is currently on the desk. Construction is a messy business, to be honest. There is always dust on someone’s shoes and a lot of phone calls going back and forth with suppliers. We deal with the usual Kolkata humidity and the traffic sounds coming in through the window while we try to figure out logistics. Being in the 700020 area means we are right in the thick of things. We don’t really do big speeches or glossy brochures. We just show up at the site, check the bricks, talk to the masons, and try to make sure everything stands up straight. Most of our time is spent worrying about schedules or whether the truck with the sand is going to arrive on time because of the narrow streets. It’s a lot of practical stuff, like checking levels and making sure the measurements are right. We’ve been at this for a bit now, and while it’s tiring, it feels good to see something actually get built from the ground up right here in West Bengal.
