This is the same building where some of our other work happens, but here we focus specifically on the building side of things. The office is right in the heart of a very busy street, so there is always the sound of horns and people talking outside. Inside, it’s mostly just us working through the details of various building projects. We don't have a lot of decorations on the walls, just some calendars and maybe a few technical drawings pinned up. Our day usually starts pretty early because the building trade doesn't wait for anyone. We spend a lot of time talking to contractors and checking on material costs. It’s a practical job that requires a lot of attention to the small things that can go wrong. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't; we are just a local business trying to do honest work. Sometimes things get stressful when a delivery is late or the weather turns bad, but we just deal with it. We like being in this part of Kolkata because everything we need is close by. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but seeing a finished structure at the end of it makes it feel worth it. We just focus on the task at hand and try to keep things simple.
