Asian Refrigerators & Air Condition

We are located at 70B Surendranath Banerjee Road, right in the Entally area. It’s a loud and busy part of Kolkata, which is fine because Asian Refrigerators & Air Condition is a busy shop. We have old fridge units and AC compressors lined up along the walls. The sidewalk outside is always crowded with people. We spend our days covered in dust and coolant. It’s mostly repair work and selling older parts that are hard to find. The fans are always blowing to keep the heat away, but it’s still pretty warm in the shop. My hands are usually stained with oil by lunchtime. We get a lot of walk-ins, people from the neighborhood whose fridge stopped working in the middle of the night. We try to help them out as fast as we can. There isn't much of a system here; we just take the jobs as they come. The workbench is cluttered with screwdrivers, voltmeters, and half-finished projects. We’ve been in Entally for years, so we know the people and the building is quite old. It has that specific smell of metal and electricity. It’s not a polished store with bright lights. It’s a workshop where we actually fix things. Sometimes the parts take a while to arrive, but we manage. It’s just the way things go in this line of work. We keep the shop open until late because that is when people usually need us most.
