Ashore Exim Private Limited

We are based in the Kamalalaya Centre on Lenin Sarani in Kolkata. We are on the first floor in unit F77. It’s a very old building with a lot of character, and maybe a bit of dust. The stairs are narrow and the hallways always have someone rushing through them. We do import and export work. Most of the day is spent on the phone or typing out long emails to people in different time zones. It’s a bit of a squeeze in our office because we have so many files and samples lying around. Lenin Sarani is a chaotic place, especially during the festivals. You can hear the trams and the horns all day long. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. When the door opens, one of us just looks up from our desk. We handle the shipping documents and the customs stuff ourselves. It’s hard work and sometimes things get delayed at the port, which is frustrating. But that is just how the business goes. We’ve learned to deal with the ups and downs. Our desks are covered in coffee mugs and pens. We aren't a high-tech startup, just a group of people trying to move goods across borders. It’s honest work and we’ve been at it for years in this same building.
