Our office is at 226 Diamond Harbour Road, which is right across from the Behala police station. If you know Parnasri Palli, you know how busy this stretch of road gets. We have been here for a long time, watching the traffic go by every day. Being opposite the Thana makes it very easy to explain our location to anyone coming for the first time. We are just a small group of people working here together. It is not a corporate office with glass partitions or fancy furniture. We have some old desks and a few chairs for visitors to sit on. We handle a lot of local paperwork and help people with their documentation needs. The fan is always humming in the background and we keep the door open most of the day. The noise from Diamond Harbour Road is constant with all the buses and autos honking their horns. We have a lot of regular people from the neighborhood who drop in just to say hello or ask a quick question about a property matter or some local issue. It is a simple life here in Behala. We don't use any big marketing tricks or anything like that. We just sit at our desks and do the work that comes in. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait it out for a while. That is part of living and working in this part of Kolkata. We know the streets around Parnasri Palli like the back of our hands. We just keep things moving along.
