If you come to Salt Lake, you’ll find us at BC 30, right in Flat No. 1. This is the home of Artmeup (Opc) Private Limited. Being an OPC means it’s a small operation, mostly run by one person with a little help here and there. Salt Lake is a nice, green part of Kolkata, and it’s a bit quieter than the central areas. The office is basically just a room converted into a workspace. It’s filled with art supplies, sketches, and a computer that stays on way too late most nights. It’s not a corporate showroom. It’s a place where things actually get created. There are often paint stains on the floor and stacks of paper everywhere you look. We don’t really worry about making it look perfect for visitors because we’re usually too busy working on the next piece. It’s an honest way to work. People who know us know that we care about the craft more than the business side of things. We take on projects that look interesting and try to bring some creativity to them. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours. We don’t have a big staff or a fancy boardroom. Just a desk, a chair, and a lot of ideas. Working from Flat 1 gives us the peace we need to actually think and get things done. It’s just how Artmeup functions, day in and day out, without any fuss or unnecessary noise.
