ARCOIRIS TRADING PRIVATE LIMITED

Arcoiris Trading is based out of the Qube building in Newtown. We are in Flat 903, on the 9th floor of Block 1. Newtown is quite different from the older parts of the city; it’s more modern with all these new buildings like the Qube standing around. Even though the building is newer, our office is just a regular workspace. We do trading, which means a lot of time on computers and phones. We have a view of the area from up here, but mostly we are looking at spreadsheets and shipping trackers on our screens. It’s a bit of a change from the crowded, narrow lanes of central Kolkata. The elevators can be slow when everyone is coming in for work in the morning. We aren't a big company, just a few of us handling the daily trading operations. We spend our mornings catching up on what happened in the markets overnight and then the rest of the day is just follow-up. It’s a lot of logistics and talking to different suppliers. We don't have any flashy stuff in the office, just the essentials to get the job done. Sometimes we walk down to the nearby food courts for lunch when we have the time. It’s a relatively quiet place to work compared to the old markets. We just come in, do our trading work, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s pretty straightforward. No big mystery to it, just a trading business in a modern plot in Newtown.
