Ancora Developers Private Limited is located over at 4 Synagogue Street. If you know Kolkata, you know that area is always moving. We are up on the 6th floor in Room 609, inside the Bengal Rope Works building. It’s one of those older buildings that has seen a lot of history. The elevator can be a bit slow sometimes, so we often end up waiting with the neighbors from other offices. Our space isn't huge, but it fits what we need to get the development work organized. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at site drawings across the desk. Being in the heart of Kolkata-700001 means there’s always noise from the street below, but you get used to it after a week or two. It feels like a real place of work, not a showroom. We deal with the usual city stuff, like power cuts or the monsoon rain making the commute a mess. Most of our day is just handling the logistics of whatever project is currently on the go. There’s always a stack of files that needs sorting and someone usually has a cup of tea going. We aren’t trying to be something we’re not. We are just a group of people working in development from a room in a tall building in the city. It’s straightforward work and we just try to stay on top of the daily tasks. Sometimes we stay late when the deadlines get close.
