We are located at 157 Kankulia Road in Kolkata. It’s an old part of the city and the building has that classic look to it. Our office is basically just a room filled with filing cabinets and a few desks. We spend the whole day looking at resumes and talking to people who are looking for work. It’s a lot of talking. Sometimes the phone doesn't stop ringing and other times it is completely silent. We don't have a big website or a portal. People usually find out about us through word of mouth or by seeing the small sign outside on the street. It’s a busy road with lots of people walking by all the time. We see all kinds of folks coming in, some very nervous and some who have been to ten different agencies already. We try to be straight with everyone. We don't promise things we can't do. If there’s a job, we tell them. If not, we just keep their papers on file. The tea guy comes by twice a day and that’s usually the highlight of the afternoon. It is hard work because you're dealing with people's lives and their money. We just do our best to match them up with whatever company is hiring at the moment. It’s not a glamorous job but it keeps us busy. We just keep moving forward one day at a time.
