Alibaba Com is based at Podar Point, 113 Park Street, in Block B. This is Kolkata 16, so it's right in the middle of everything. Park Street is famous for being busy and full of energy. Our office is inside the Podar Point building which is a pretty well-known spot. It’s a bit of a trek up to Block B but the view of the street from the window is worth it. You can see the yellow taxis and the crowds moving below all day long. Inside, it’s a regular office setup. We have desks, chairs, and computers hum all day. It’s not like those fancy tech campuses you see on TV. It’s just a place where we sit and handle the daily tasks. The air conditioning is a lifesaver in the summer months because Kolkata gets incredibly humid. We usually go out for lunch at one of the stalls nearby because the food is good and cheap. There are always people coming in and out of the building, so it feels very active. We've got piles of folders and some spare monitors sitting in the corner. It feels like a real workspace where things actually happen. We aren't doing anything revolutionary, just keeping up with the work and making sure things get sent out on time. It’s a good spot to be in, right at the heart of the city. We keep the kettle on and the work flowing. Most evenings the sunset looks nice over the rooftops here.
