Our place is located at 11C Monohar Pukur Road, up on the second floor. Aalfaraz Fish And Fruits Traders And Exporters Private Limited is a mouthful of a name, but we mostly just think of ourselves as the people who move perishables. Being in the Kalighat and Tollygunge area means we are surrounded by a lot of history and very narrow streets. Dealing with fish and fruit means our days start way before the sun comes up. You have to be quick with this kind of work or things go bad. The office is where we handle the logistics and the export details. It is often a bit messy with ledgers and lists of what needs to go where. We have been in this spot for a bit, and we know the neighbors well. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep, so we get our exercise in. It is not a quiet job. There is always someone calling about a shipment or a driver checking the route. We just try to keep the wheels turning. Kolkata is a big city for trading, and being near the Kalighat side makes it easy to stay connected. We don't have a corporate lobby or anything like that. Just some desks, chairs, and people working hard to make sure the food stays fresh and moves fast. It can get stressful when things are delayed, but we just handle it as it comes.
