Goldenglow Exports Pvt. Ltd. operates out of 113-b Manohardas Katra. If you know this part of the city, you know how tight the lanes are and how much shouting goes on between the vendors. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just a place where we keep the records and handle the logistics for what we send out. The front door sticks a little when it’s humid. Inside, we have some old metal desks and a lot of filing cabinets that are starting to rust at the bottom. We spend our mornings checking lists and making sure the orders are ready to go. There’s a lot of back and forth with the transporters. Sometimes the trucks can’t even get close because of the traffic, so there’s a lot of waiting around. We drink a lot of tea while we wait. The guy down the street brings it in those small clay cups. It’s usually too sweet, but it helps when the afternoon slump hits. We aren't a big operation with fancy suits. Most of us wear regular shirts and spend the day worrying about shipping dates and whether the rain is going to hold up the loading. It’s a lot of paperwork and phone calls. We just keep our heads down and get the boxes moved. That's how it's been for a while now, and we just keep the routine going day after day. It's hard work but it's ours and it keeps us busy through the seasons.
