Our textile business is located in Kabnoor, over in the Kolhapur district. We are right near the Datta Temple, so you can always hear the bells in the morning. The address is 1992-1-A in the Datta Nagar area. It’s a quiet residential neighborhood that has some small industries mixed in. Shri Karveernivasini Textile LLP is basically a local operation. We have our machines set up and we spend most of the day listening to the clacking of the looms. It’s a sound we’ve grown to love. The space isn’t very big, and it can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of yarn coming in. We don't have a fancy showroom or a reception desk. Usually, if someone comes by, they just walk straight into the workspace. Most of the people who work here live within walking distance, so we are more like a family than a company. We have tea together in the afternoons and talk about what’s happening in the village. Kolhapur is known for its textiles, and we are just one small part of that long tradition. We don't do any big advertising. Most of our work comes from people who have known us for years. The floor is usually covered in thread and there is a lot of dust, but that’s just how a textile unit looks. We just keep working and trying to stay ahead of the orders. It is a noisy place but we find it comfortable.
