Raymond Luxury Cotton Ltd.

Our facility is located at Plot No. T1 in the Hatkanangale 5 Star Industrial Estate. It’s out in Kasaba Sangaon, which is part of the Kagal Taluka in the Kolhapur district. Raymond Luxury Cotton Ltd. sounds like a big name, but on the ground, it’s just a lot of hard work and cotton. The industrial estate is quite spread out and has a lot of green patches between the plots. We spend our days surrounded by cotton bales and spinning machinery. The noise is constant, a sort of low rhythmic thumping that you eventually stop hearing. Kolhapur is known for its textile history, so it feels right being here. We have a large workforce from the nearby villages. It’s not a corporate office with glass walls; it’s a functional factory. We focus on the thread and the weave. Sometimes the weather in Kolhapur gets very humid, which affects how the cotton behaves. We have to keep an eye on that. We don’t do much in the way of fancy talk. We just show up and run the machines. There’s a canteen where we get our snacks, and that’s where most of the talking happens. It’s a massive operation but we try to keep it feeling like a community.
