Jayaraj Traders

The shop is tucked away in Kalmath, right on Achara Road. If you know where the police station is, we are just a short walk from there at office number 694. It’s a busy little spot in Kankavli. We spend most of our time moving stock around and talking to people who come in looking for different things. Traders like us usually have a bit of everything lying around, so the back room is always a bit cluttered with crates and boxes. Some days the traffic on Achara Road is pretty loud, but you get used to it after a while. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not, just a local place where you can find what you need. Often, the morning starts with checking what arrived on the last truck and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting things and counting inventory. We have our regulars who stop by just to say hello or ask about a specific item they’ve been looking for. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just sit on the bench outside until it comes back. It’s that kind of place. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that, just a couple of us making sure the orders go out and the shelves don't stay empty for too long. It’s straightforward work and we like it that way. Most days are simple and consistent.
