Chandleshwar Agro Producer Company Limited

Down here in Malewadi, which is part of Udgir in the Latur district, we started Chandleshwar Agro Producer Company. It is really just a collective of us trying to figure out the best way to handle our crops and get them to market without losing too much money in the process. We are located over at Khusu Sidram Biradar’s place, which serves as our base for the time being. Latur can be a tough place for farming, especially with the water situation being so unpredictable some years, so being a producer company helps us stay a bit more organized as a group. We are not professional businessmen or corporate types. Most of us grew up on these farms and just want a fair shake for the hard work we put into the land. We spend a lot of our time sitting around, discussing seed prices or who has got a tractor available for the next week. It is very community-driven. You will not find any fancy brochures or slick presentations here. We just keep our records and try to make sure everyone in the group gets what they need when they need it. Some days are just spent waiting for the rain or checking on the transport trucks that come through Malewadi. It is a slow process sometimes, and things do not always go according to our plans, but that is just life in Udgir. We are just trying to make a go of it together.
