Sree Ayyappa Traders

If you head over to the Sarvodaya Puram Market in Kalavoor, you will find Sree Ayyappa Traders right in the middle of all the noise. Markets are funny places because they never really seem to go quiet. We are usually here before the sun is even fully up, trying to get things organized before the crowd arrives. It gets pretty dusty and loud with the trucks coming in and out, but we’ve gotten used to it. The floor is often covered in bits of packing material and the phone rings more than we’d like. We handle a lot of different items and sometimes it’s hard to keep track of every little detail, but we manage. My hands are usually a bit dirty by lunch time from moving boxes around. There isn't much space to sit down, so we mostly just lean against the counters when things slow down for a minute. Most of our regulars are other people working in the market or locals who have been coming to this part of Kalavoor for years. We don't have a big fancy sign or anything like that. It’s just a shop where we work hard and try to get the orders right. Sometimes we make mistakes with the paperwork, but we always fix it. It’s just a regular life here at the market.
