M B L Cement

M B L Cement is located at 15 Bridge Road in Ambalapuzha. It is right by the water, so the air is always a bit damp, which isn't great for cement, so we have to keep everything tightly covered. Our yard is mostly full of grey bags and some construction tools. It’s a heavy job, moving those bags around all day. We don't have much of an office, just a small desk in the corner of the warehouse where the phone sits. It rings a lot with people asking about prices or when the next truck is coming in. We don't have a delivery fleet, just one old truck that we fix ourselves when the engine acts up. The road can get muddy when it rains, making it hard for the bigger lorries to turn around. We’ve been at this Bridge Road spot for years now. We know most of the builders in Ambalapuzha by their first names. We aren't trying to be the biggest supplier in the state. We just focus on getting the bags out to the local sites on time. Sometimes we run out of stock when the factory has a delay, and we just have to wait it out. It’s a tough, gritty business, and we go home every day covered in grey dust. But it’s what we know how to do. We just keep moving the bags and answering the phone.
