Smoki Ice

Smoki Ice is situated at number 2 in Edachira, which is in the Kakkanad area. It’s an interesting spot because Kakkanad has been growing so much lately, but our little corner remains pretty grounded. The shop is at a convenient point for people living nearby or those who are just passing through Edachira. We aren't a big flashy parlor with lots of decorations. It’s a simple room with our freezers and a place for us to stand and serve. We’ve been operating here for a while, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years. My days are mostly spent checking the stock and making sure the electricity is steady so nothing melts. It’s a lot of work keeping an ice cream shop running, even a small one like this. In the evenings, we get a good number of people who come by after work or after they’ve finished their dinner at home. We just try to provide a decent variety of ice cream for whoever comes in. It’s a straightforward business. We don’t have any fancy corporate offices or anything; everything happens right here at number 2. We keep it honest and just focus on the task at hand. Sometimes it’s busy and we’re rushing around, and other times it’s just quiet and we’re waiting for the next person to walk in. It’s a good place to be, right in the heart of the community here in Edachira. We just take it one day at a time.
