Global Foods Exports

If you look for us at Kathrukadavy, you’ll mostly find us busy around the Post Box No. 1884 area. It isn't a huge office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s mostly just us surrounded by bags and boxes of food items waiting to go somewhere far away. Dealing with exports sounds big, but mostly it’s just making sure the weight is right and the labels don’t peel off in the heat. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to people at the docks or trying to find out why a truck is late. The humidity here can be a real pain, especially when you’re trying to keep everything dry and fresh. We’ve got a couple of guys who have been with us for years, and we just drink our coffee and sort through the paperwork. It gets a bit messy during the peak season when everything arrives at once. You learn to just keep your head down and keep moving. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish the manifest, and the only sound is the fan overhead and the occasional scooter outside. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just trying to make sure the stuff we send out is what people expected. Global Foods Exports is just a name on the crates, really. At the end of the day, we’re just a few people in Kathrukadavy trying to get things where they need to go.
