Sign Dynamic

The shop is tucked away in the Industrial Estate at South Kalamassery. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always a lot of traffic and people moving around outside. Inside Sign Dynamic, we usually have a few different things going on at once. One guy might be cutting out letters while another is trying to get the colors to look right on a print. It gets a bit messy with all the scraps of vinyl and bits of plastic on the floor, but we try to sweep up every evening. Some days are quieter than others. That gives us time to fix the machines or organize the tool rack. We don’t really have a big reception area or anything like that. People just walk in through the main door and talk to us while we work. It’s been this way for years. The air always smells a bit like glue and ink. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a big sign because the customer needs it by morning. We just put some music on and keep going. It is not the most glamorous job, but we like seeing the finished signs before they head out the door. The neighbors in the estate are good people. We often borrow tools from each other. It feels like a real community here in Kalamassery. We just do our work and hope the machines don't act up. There is always a stack of aluminum sheets leaning against the wall waiting to be used for the next project.
