Modern Sign Systems

Our shop is tucked away on Surabhi Road, right behind the IOC Pump in Padivattom. It’s 32/1942 if you’re looking for the number on the door. It gets pretty busy around here because of the petrol pump, so there’s always cars coming and going. Modern Sign Systems is just a place where we put together signs and lettering. It’s dusty most of the time because of the cutting and the road work outside. We’ve been at this for some time, and it’s mostly just hard work and long hours. We don’t have a fancy receptionist or anything. You just walk in and talk to whoever is free at the moment. Sometimes we’re all out back working on a big frame, so you might have to shout to get our attention. We handle the materials we have and try to make things fit the way they’re supposed to. Padivattom is a decent area, and being behind the pump means people usually find us eventually. We’ve got a couple of old machines that make a lot of noise, but they still work fine. The floor is usually covered in bits of vinyl and metal shavings. It’s just how it is when you’re actually making things by hand. We don't worry much about how the office looks as long as the work gets out.
