Hotel New Star

You can find Hotel New Star right in Edapally, across from the Changapuza Road Junction. It’s a spot that’s easy to miss if you aren’t looking for it, but we’ve been here in Ernakulam for a good bit. The junction gets really crowded during the morning rush, so we see a lot of people heading to work while we’re just starting our shift. We keep things pretty basic here. There’s a front desk where someone usually sits, and the rooms are spread out over a couple of floors. We don’t have a lift, so be prepared for a few stairs if you’re staying on the upper levels. It’s the kind of place where you just come to sleep after a long day out in the city. We don’t have a fancy restaurant inside, but there are plenty of small joints nearby if you get hungry. Mostly, we just focus on keeping the rooms ready for whoever shows up. Sometimes it’s a student, sometimes it’s someone in town for a wedding. We’ve had all sorts stay with us over the years. The plumbing is old but it works, and we make sure there’s enough water in the tanks every morning. It’s just a regular building on a regular street. We don’t put on any acts here; it’s just a place to stay while you’re visiting Edapally or passing through to somewhere else. It’s just us doing the daily chores and hoping the day goes by without any major issues.
