Caza Maria Hotel

Caza Maria Hotel sits right near the Synagogue in the Jew Town part of Mattancherri. If you know the area, you know how narrow the streets are and how much history is packed into 682002. We’ve been here in this part of Kochi for quite some time now. It’s a busy neighborhood with all the shops and people walking through to see the sights. Our building is part of that old fabric. We don’t have a big corporate team; it’s just the folks who work here every day. We spend a lot of time talking to visitors who are exploring the spice markets or looking at the old architecture. The location is the main thing, really. You step out the door and you are right in the middle of Mattancherri. It gets a bit noisy during the day when the tourists are around, but it settles down at night. We try to keep things simple and clean for everyone. There’s always laundry to do or someone checking in late. It’s a lot of work running a hotel in an old area like this, but we like the neighborhood. We see the same faces every morning at the tea stalls nearby. It’s just a regular life for us, keeping the rooms ready and making sure the front door is looked after. We just take things one day at a time here in Jew Town without too much fuss.
