Up here in Cherthala, specifically in Kovilakthu Eramalloor Po, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Green Village Hospitality Services is basically just us trying to make sure everyone who visits feels okay. We aren't some five-star resort with marble floors. It’s more of a local setup. We spend a lot of time cleaning, fixing things, and making sure the kitchen is running. Eramalloor is a quiet place, mostly trees and small roads. We get people coming through who want to see the greenery or just need a place to stay while they travel. It’s a lot of work keeping up with the maintenance, especially with the weather we get in Kerala. The humidity can really do a number on the buildings. We usually start the day pretty early before it gets too hot. There is always a leaky tap or a garden path that needs clearing. We don’t have a massive staff, just a few local people from around the village who help out. It feels more like a house than a business most days. We sit around in the evenings once the guests are settled. We don’t use any big words to describe what we do. We just provide a room and some food and try to keep the place tidy. That’s what hospitality means to us here in Cherthala. It is just about being decent to people and keeping the yard clean.
